Events

The Bankruptcy Law Section hosts events throughout the year that bring together professionals, judges, academics, and students from across Texas. Our programs are designed to provide high-quality education, foster professional connections, and celebrate the unique collegiality of the Texas bankruptcy community.

Biennial Signature Event

Held in odd years, the Section’s Bench Bar Conference is one of the premier gatherings for bankruptcy professionals in Texas.  It features timely and informative CLE programs presented by judges, leading practitioners, and scholars from across the state and beyond. Sessions are designed to provide practical guidance, explore cutting-edge developments, and encourage thoughtful discussion on issues shaping bankruptcy practice.

Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Programs

In addition to its educational focus, the event offers robust networking opportunities, allowing members to build connections across Districts and disciplines.

The Section sponsors regular virtual CLEs to keep members informed and prepared for the challenges of modern bankruptcy practice. These programs range from in-depth presentations on recent case law and legislative updates to practical sessions that address the day-to-day issues faced by bankruptcy professionals.  Our CLE offerings are designed to be accessible and relevant, giving members the tools they need to serve clients effectively and stay ahead in a constantly evolving field.

Networking & Community Events

Beyond education, the Section is dedicated to fostering genuine connections within the bankruptcy bar. Our networking and community events create opportunities to meet colleagues, share experiences, and strengthen professional relationships in a welcoming environment. From statewide receptions and district-level gatherings to informal meet-ups, these events help members stay connected, collaborate across practice areas, and build lasting friendships that extend beyond the practice of law.

Community Outreach Activities

In line with our mission, we host programs that extend beyond the legal profession, including pro bono service opportunities, mentorship initiatives, and financial education efforts.
