The Bankruptcy Law Section is committed not only to serving our members, but also to making a meaningful difference in the broader community. We believe that access to justice and financial literacy are essential, and our outreach initiatives aim to extend the knowledge, skills, and service of our members beyond the courtroom.
Pro Bono Initiatives
Our members regularly volunteer their time and expertise to provide pro bono legal services to individuals and families facing financial hardship. By partnering with local legal aid organizations and clinics, the Section helps expand access to bankruptcy representation for those who might not otherwise be able to afford it.
Educational Programs
We provide the MoneyWise Program, a financial management course for high school students and adults. Through Moneywise, our members contribute to empowering Texas with the tools they need to make informed financial decisions.
Scholarship, Mentoring, and Pipeline Efforts
The Section also invests in the next generation of legal professionals. Through our BLS Scholarship and law school outreach, we strive to inspire and support future bankruptcy practitioners and remove barriers to opportunities within the legal profession.
