A Message from the Chair

Welcome to the Bankruptcy Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.  Our Section is comprised of diverse, congenial, and collaborative professionals who engage with each other to learn more about the bankruptcy law practice, how to better serve their clients, and strengthen and grow professional connections.  This website has a plethora of resources for members, including an upcoming event calendar for all bankruptcy related meetings, a semiannual Section newsletter, and community outreach opportunities across the Lone Star State.  Your Section dues help the Bankruptcy Law Section offer a broad array of free programming, and networking opportunities for members as well as funding for several non-profit projects and organizations in Texas for bankruptcy-related matters.  We have multiple programs and opportunities to volunteer your time and talent, whether it’s mentoring students interested in the practice (Moneywise, Elliott Cup or Diversity & Inclusion pipeline program), or assisting individuals needing pro-bono assistance (law school pro-bono clinics, veterans assistance programs, etc.).  We also recently established a Diversity Scholarship for a deserving law student interested in Texas bankruptcy law practice.  The Section also offers consumer and business-focused CLE opportunities, many of which are free and accessible online.  We welcome financial professionals to join the Section, who may enjoy our numerous benefits, by contacting our Non-Lawyer Member Advisor.  If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding the Section and our programs, please feel free to reach out to me to discuss.
